This role comes with great responsibility. Your work will influence over 30k developers registered to the LiveChat Developer Console. You’ll help them navigate through the Console and make the most of the functionalities it offers.
All of that will be achieved primarily through the maintenance and development of the Platform Documentation, which is visited around 1500-2000 times every day. Together with your team, you’ll work toward equipping developers with the tools and knowledge needed to build solutions that will change the world of online communication.
Cooperating with software engineers working at LiveChat to make sure our documentation is up to date with the latest feature releases;
Maintaining and curating the existing documents (API references, tutorials, guides);
Keeping our Postman collections up to date;
Editing, standardizing, and making changes to material prepared by developers and initial API code authors;
Analyzing the documentation to determine the need for revisions in the previously published materials and the development of the new material;
Creating written guides that explain the possibilities of the Developer Console;
Managing documentation releases;
Managing internal and external feedback on the documentation;
Helping developers solve their problems raised via GitHub issues in the livechat-public-docs repository;
Measuring, tracking, and analyzing documentation-related data and metrics;
Actively participating in the Developer Education team’s projects, suggesting new ideas and improvements.
Professional command of English (both written and spoken);
Proactiveness and readiness to take ownership of your projects and tasks;
Depending on your background, motivation to grow your skills in either more technical or content-related areas;
Experience in communicating with software engineers;
Experience writing common forms of developer documentation (API reference, conceptual guides, and tutorials);
Understanding of HTTP request-response protocol.
Some exposure to coding practices in JavaScript and React;
Familiarity with using source control systems (Git in particular is a plus – knowing how to clone, branch, create PRs, resolve conflicts, etc.);
Experience using Postman or a similar tool;
Familiarity with the general concept of WebSockets.
